Of all the traditional Asian festivals that are celebrated around the world, the Lunar New Year is one of the most elaborate, colourful and important in the Asian community. It is a time to congratulate each other on having completed another year, and a time to part with the old and welcome in the new.
The 2019 City of Vaughan Lunar New Year celebration to welcome in the Year of the Pig will be celebrated on Sunday, Feb. 3 at Vaughan City Hall. Held in partnership with the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Vaughan (FCCV), the celebration included a traditional lion dance, eye-dotting ceremony and other cultural performances.
