Honour the 206th anniversary of the Battle of York fought on April 27, 1813. The Fort comes alive with musket firing demonstrations, Georgian cooking in the Officers’ Quarters kitchen, site tours and period animation. Kids can try “falling-in” for 1812-era soldiering drill!

April 27 at 11am: Meet outside the Palais Royale (1601 Lakeshore Blvd West) for “Walking in Their Footsteps,” a 1.5-hour tour that treads the ground of the U.S. attackers and York defenders.

April 28 at 11am and 2pm: On Sunday, enjoy a special “Battle of York” walking tour, which starts at the Canteen and uses Fort York, Garrison Common and areas of the original shoreline to highlight the dramatic battle that took place 206 years ago.
