Event Details

This event finished on 06 May 2018

The Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) celebrates diversity in literature by promoting diverse authors and stories in Brampton, Ontario—one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

Kid-friendly events at the festival include free readings with award-winning authors David A. Robertson, who will read from his children’s book about the residential school system, When We Were Alone; and Jillian Tamaki with her debut book They Say Blue, followed by a family friendly activity. Readings are at PAMA Studio on May 5.

At a special youth session at St. Mary’s Elementary School on May 4, The Lit Life, four children’s literature and YA fiction authors share their journey to becoming writers and talk about what, why, and how they write. A spoken word showcase for youth follows the session at noon.

The Writing Comics session on Sunday, May 6, at PAMA is open to all ages and covers the basics of storytelling through comic and graphic novels.
