Arts in the Parks: To The Table

Event Details

This event finished on 04 August 2018

Red Dress Productions will present To the Table, a multi-disciplinary installation created through interactive workshops in Fred Johnson Park, in Scarborough. During 12 all-ages drop-in workshops, the team will engage community members in diverse art-making practices, designing and building a number of different table top forms – square, triangular, circular, oval, rounded edges, etc. – as well as table legs in a variety of lengths. The goal is to create a table that’s comfortable for as many as possible to gather around, and that can be remade in to many different forms, for many different possibilities. Through design, ceramic and glass mosaic, fabric hand-stitching and printing, and word and sound workshops, participants will create a multi-sensory installation that culminates in an art feast and celebration on August 4. All are welcome to attend any or all of the workshops.
