The Children’s Discovery Centre was a children’s museum pilot project that was open for 14 months from 2015 to 2016. It is currently fundraising to create a permanent home in the city.
Toronto’s only children’s museum, the Children’s Discovery Centre was designed by a team of early childhood experts, specifically for kids aged 0 to 6 years, to play, create, explore and use their imagination. The 20,000-square-foot space in downtown Toronto included a dozen Discovery Zones, including a Mini City for riding trikes and scooters, an Urban Campground with tents and canoes, Make Believe dress-up area, Art Hive for painting masterpieces, storytelling and reading fort area, and role-playing rooms with a grocery store, restaurant, and veterinary office
