About North York Aquatic Club (NYAC)

Pre-competitive and competitive non-profit swim club with swim lessons and coaching, technique instruction, and conditioning for ages 6 and up.

All new swimmers must be evaluated by a coach and be able to swim a minimum of 25 m before they can register into any of the programs.

North York Aquatic Club (NYAC) has certified coaches for levels from novice to international competitive.

Swimming Programs

  • Waves (pre-competitive) – For developing swimmers from 6-18 who want to improve basic swimming skills. Swimmers are introduced to the four competitive strokes, dives, and turns. Emphasis is on body position, kicking, recovery and pull. Wave swimmers should be at least at Level 6 in swimming and comfortable in the deep end.
  • Competitive – Swimmers must demonstrate the ability to handle the training load; be prepared to work on and master the finer points of stroke techniques, starts, turns and race strategy; be committed to attending practices; and be able to handle the stresses of intense training and competition. Swimmers are grouped by ability and consideration of the athlete’s age.
  • TriSwims/Master – a year-round swimming based program for athletes aged 18 years and over that provides swim training for triathletes and masters swimmers of all levels and experience.

Summer Camp

Summer camps emphasize technical skill, training habits, mental preparation, as well as the importance of health and fitness.

There are several pool locations and times available.
