Skating…It’s In Our DNA

Hype
We might not have skated since we were kids (and not afraid of falling down), but this year that is all going to change.

Forest Hill Figure Skating Club (HYPE)

Skating is our country’s national pastime; hockey is (whether we like it or not) in our blood. Being on the ice is part of our DNA just as much as Tim Horton’s coffee, and the maple leaf (or Leafs?), so how is it that our proud-to-be Canadian children don’t know how to skate yet (and…um…us too)?

This year we’re going to change that. We’re going to make sure they learn to skate, because at Forest Hill Figure Skating Club, they believe it’s never too early or too late to learn to skate (which means we can brush up on our skating too).

The Club offers a variety of programs for all ages and abilities, including Preschool and Mini-tot for ages 2 and up; Start-Right and Can-Skate for new skaters of different ages; Junior Development, Intermediate and Advanced sessions for more serious skaters; Double Digit for kids age 10-16 learning to skate; Adult Learn-to-Skate and a hockey skills program. For those of us with over-achievers at home, They have also introduced a development program for those who are looking to skate at a competitive level.

We’re throwing on our hockey jerseys, picking up our skates, grabbing a Double Double and heading to the rink. How much more Canadian can we get? This holiday season we’re determined that the whole family will learn some skills on the ice.

Note to all parents of new skaters:
Good quality skates are one of the most important keys to a positive, successful skating experience. Please contact your skating club for information on what to look for when you shop for preschool or school age kids.
