It’s official: elementary teachers will strike in Toronto and York Region on January 20, 2020 and January 21, 2020 for the TCDSB, barring any 11th-hour negotiations. For parents who work during school hours, this requires some last-minute planning.
If you are looking for a camp during the ETFO and OECTA strikes on Monday, January 20, 2020 or Tuesday, January 21, 2020 , we’ve rounded up all the full-day and half-day camps we’ve found thus far. Note that the City of Toronto will not have any camps to cover the strike.
In all cases, refunds will be given if the strike is averted.

Electric Moon Theatre Company
For kids in Grades 1 through 7, Electric Moon Theatre Company is planning a full-day Strike Day Theatre Camp in collaboration with CharActors Theatre Troupe in Thornhill. This is a musical theatre camp! Also offered on Jan. 21. Cost: $65/day. Learn more/sign up.

Adventure Valley Day Camp
Adventure Valley Day Camp is offering a full-day Strike Camp for kids in JK–Grade 6 at its Thornhill location. The day will include fun, educational activities including art, cooking, music, dance, and outdoor play. Extended hours available. Cost: $75/ per day. Learn more/sign up.
Valour Martial Arts + Fitness Club

If you’ve got a dancer on your hands, ViBE Dance & Fitness Studio in Thornhill is offering Camp ViBE session on Monday. Cost: $60/day Learn more/sign up.

The Maker Bean

The Toronto Zoo is offering its Big Day Off PA day camp for ages 4–10. Tour the zoo, get a behind-the-scenes encounter, and learn what the animals do during the winter season. Also offered on Jan. 21. Cost: $50 members, $60 non-members. Learn more/sign up.
Just For Fun
This Scarborough indoor playground will have a full-day Strike Day Camp on Monday and Tuesday, with arts and crafts, cooking, laser tag, movies, and access to the indoor playground for ages 4 and up. Extended care available. Cost: $65. Learn more/sign up.

Toronto Athletic Camps (TAC Sports)

NTR in Richmond Hill will be holding full-day hockey and skating camps for players with or without hockey experience, ages 4–12. Kids can expect on-ice instruction, skating games, arts and crafts, and off-ice activities and games. Cost: $60. Learn more/sign up.

Kids ages 5–12 can take part in a fun day of hands-on science activities at the Ontario Scienc Centre on January 21 and January 22. There is no extra cost for extended care. Cost: $70 members, $75 non-members. Learn more/sign up.
Elite Basketball Camps
Elite Basketball Camps is offering its Fun Days basketball camp on Monday, January 20 at its North York (Don Mills area) training centre. Contact them by phone or email for details. For ages 7–13. Cost: $90. Learn more.
If you already have your child in after-school care, check with them. Many before- and after-school care programs are opening up to take kids for the full day to try to alleviate the pressure put on parents due to the strike.
