Sunday Fundays happen the first Sunday of each month. Different themes and activities are designed to appeal to kids and their parents, and they will have fun while learning about the region’s history.

August 4: Carried Away with Carriages
Check out the large collection of McLaughlin carriages and cutters that date back to the 1890s and have your photo taken with their showpiece carriage in the gardens.

September 1: School Days
Discover what school was like for kids back in the early 1900s! Step back in time when you enter Guy House. Sit in school desks, write on slates and dress up like a Victorian kid.

October 6: We DIG History! All About Archaeology
Interact with artefacts from Oshawa’s Ancestral Wendat archaeological sites.Learn about tools of the trade, dating techniques and put together clay pots!

November 3: Pen & Ink Letters to Santa
Learn how to use pen and ink to write letters, just as Victorians did. Children could write letters to Santa in time to mail them at the Santa Claus Parade!

December 1: The Victorian Home at Christmas
See just how different life was for families around a Victorian home, especially at Christmas! Explore roles of the family, tools and gadgets that made their life easier and how the Victorians decorated their homes for the holidays. Get hands-on with real artefacts from the Victorian Era used in real Victorian homes, over 150 years ago!
