See grown-up movies in a baby-friendly environment, with dimmed lighting and lowered sound. Movies for Mommies was the first program in Canada to offer “mommy-and-me” movies at local theatres. Movie events double as meetup groups, which also welcome dads, caregivers, grandparents, and friends. Prizes are given away before each show, and pre-show events (baby/family photo shoots, baby sign language workshops) take place monthly.
Founded in Toronto, MFM now takes place in cinemas across Canada, including Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, Regina, and Saskatoon. Screenings are at independent theatres as well as big multiplex cinemas and movies are all weekday matinees.
MFM also hosts weekend family-friendly movies for the whole family at local independent theatres on Saturday or Sunday mornings, designed for families with babies or children. These screenings also include pre-show giveaways and are sensory-friendly and baby-friendly, with lowered sound and dimmed theatre lighting.
