Summer Camps in Vancouver

Camps

Though the weather these days might be near frightful, our thoughts are turning to summer (yes, summer!)…and to summer camps (yes, summer camps!) for our kidlets. We like to send our kids to camp every summer as a part of developing their independence (and to recover our own). They love it for the activities, the experiences and the enjoyment; we love it for the quiet house we have while they’re gone, and of course the amazing experiences they have and skills they develop.

If you’re looking for camps this summer, we have the inside scoop on where to get information. If you have never sent your child to camp, here’s a great article on five things to know about summer day camps. For those interested in overnight camps, here is an informative article on preparing your child for overnight camp.

Academie Duello
Send your child back in time to immerse themselves in learning about the Middle Ages in a safe and engaging environment!  Each day of the five day camp is focused around an aspect of knightly training, from martial skills such as the longsword, and sword and shield, to the practice of knightly virtues such as generosity and integrity. Students at Knight Camp learn history, leadership skills, and the foundational knowledge that all knights possessed from heraldry to archery to medieval games.

Musqueam Golf
Musqueam Junior Summer Golf Camps are a great way to learn golf in a fun, positive, and safe environment. Our camps aim to provide a broad range of tools from the core fundamentals, to chipping, putting, bunker play, on course play including etiquette & strategy, and a host of games and skill challenges that encourage and foster Junior Golf development. All Camps will provide snacks, water, and any equipment needed.

Butterfly Yoga
This 3 hour class is divided into two parts – Yoga and Art and is designed to help explore the connection between body, mind & spirit. Older children will use creative expression through art and then halfway through the class, after a short break and snack, will develop strength, peace, & flexibility through yoga.  The younger children will begin their day with Yoga and switch halfway after a short break and snack, to then explore art.

Urban Safari
Urban Safari Rescue Society is dedicated to the rescue, care and maintenance of exotic and other animals, and to provide education through lectures, in-house courses and outreach programs for adults and children, using exotic animals rescued from the pet trade industry, illegal breeders, smugglers, and with those animals who have been abandoned or neglected.

If you’re looking for more traditional camps, try Camp Miriam, Stillwood, Camp Luther and Vancouver YMCA Camps.

If a special-interest camp is something your child might like, you might want to check out Southlands Farms, 4 Cats Arts Studio, Glee Camp and Camp Monarch.

We also have many more listings in our Camps section as well as in our Parent-Tot & Drop-Off Programs, Party Resources, School and Daycare Programs, Education and Sports sections.
