I wish I had a snow suit...so my knees wouldn't freeze on my way to work.
I Wish I Had A Snow Suit, Jennifer Hamilton

I want a snowsuit. Red, preferably, that is one-piece and zips up the front.

I remember wearing snowsuits. I remember loving wearing snowsuits. You could basically slide into them, zip up and go rampaging through the snow, wind, sleet and ice without a thought or a care. There was no such thing as cold knees (that space between where your boots end and your coat begins? It’s no man’s land), no such thing as cold anything actually. It was heaven in winter and made being outside so much better during these cold months.

I had a red snowsuit when I was about seven years old. It was a one piece, with cuffs at the ankles and wrists that didn’t dare let wind or snow touch my fragile (not-yet-hardened-by-cold-weather skin). I tucked the bottoms into my awesomely warm winter boots, pulled on my insanely warm winter gloves, pulled on my hat, scarf, and hood and stayed warm, no matter what Old Man Winter threw at me.

I took my son to school the other day and waited while he took off his boots outside his classroom. While I was there I managed to sneak a peek at the four girls in his class (this sounds awful, but really, I was just watching them climb out of their snowsuits). They clambered out of their bulky, warm, comfy snow suits and jumped around the classroom in their flowered skirts, cute leggings and adorable dresses. These girls had dressing for winter down to an art (or at least their moms had it all figured out)…And I was jealous.

Honestly. Just think! I could wear a skirt to work in the dead of winter! I could finally wear all those cute dresses I have hanging in my closet or the adorable tights that are not nearly warm enough for this weather. Because I would have a snow suit to wear over them during the 25 minute walk to work that is killer cold most mornings.

I’m absolutely dying for a snow suit.

Of course when I Googled “women’s snow suit” most of the images that came up were quite risque, but this one kind of caught my eye…how do you think I’d look dropping my son off at school in this?
